Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Feed Back

I was checking out various yoga websites for a good part time Teacher Training and found the Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at Anahata.  Always inspired by Yogananth, particularly through his coffee table book, "Yoga from the Heart" which I bought a few years ago, without haste, I registered for the Training.  I am glad I did!

It was an intimate group.  We had undivided attention from Yogananth who is selfless to share his experience.  As a master of all poses, he does not show off but makes all students feel at ease trying out the poses.  The biggest take home is the great variety of advanced poses categorised in a number of series we practised during the Training.  We were all well prepared to take on the challenge - never be scared to try and experience.  There was always a warm up sequence leading to each of the series.

This Training is not and should not be for beginners.  Most of the poses are challenging; certain poses might be impossible for some practitioners.  However, it was the process we went through that made us understand how little we know, which drives us to deepen our knowledge and to maintain a consistent practice.  Yogananth always suggested modifications and advanced variations for each asana.  In addition to class practices, we had to undertake designated self practices.  This is to equip us with knowledge of different yoga styles and teaching methods in order to share our experience with students.  It was fun learning and sharing.

The Training is catered for those who wish to learn and who want to go an extra mile.  It is best not to come with expectations.  Participants should be committed; if you miss a class, it is really your loss.
